History:

Consolidated Instrument and Avionics Co. opened its doors in 1946 at historic Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, NJ. About the same time, a young man recruited by SAS came to the United States to train in PB10 autopilot systems at the Bendix Corporation, also at Teterboro. Before this, as a member of the Norwegian Underground during WWII, he escaped Nazi-controlled Norway and enlisted in the Royal Norwegian Airforce stationed at Croiden, UK. It was then that O.B. Johannessen, affectionately called OBJ, realized his goal would be a career in aviation. Back in the USA, after employment in TWA's avionics department, OBJ began employment with Consolidated Instrument Co. in 1949. "The rest," they say, "is history!"

Below are some highlights of over a half-century in the aviation industry. Many of them a credit to OBJ himself!
